Well, welcome to the best MKIII Supra community on the internet. You should be able to find the information you need about your '89 Turbo. Post up some pictures when you get a chance.

cosmetically it needs a lot of work. paint is bad, interior is half converted to grey, the other half brown. seats are hideous. half the dashboard doesnt work (rpm's, oil pressure, engine temp), and the rotors are warped. but it runs like a champ with aroun 120k miles with a top end rebuild less than 1000 miles ago.

i picked it up for only $1000, so i definitely happy to have it as a project car.

Weird, my dash does that same with except for speed instead of rpm. I just replaced all the gauges, its much easier ;)
And congrats, looks like a wicked starter point!

Nice find, I had a simalar find myself. About six months ago I got an 89'
non-turbo 5 speed hardtop. With 231,000 miles on the motor. And I only spent $900. You will be very pleased with this forum it is the best supra community on the internet. I have had many ?'s and they have all been answered. And there are two very good things about supramania and thats getting help and finding parts.

With that aside what are you running right now(boost wise)?
If its low you should be safe to jump it up a little!

Do you still have more room on your gauge?
Im pretty sure that the max for a stock turbo is like 12.5 pounds.
I have a manual from the dealer and it says in there I will check and get back to you.
Do you know how to up the boost?

Yes i have more room in my stock gauge. it only goes up to 8, but ive seen guys pin it way past that.

and no, i have no idea how to raise the boost on my stock turbo. is there a thread someone could point me towards or somethign?

I looked at that manual and the max boost for a ct26 is 12.5 safely.

What I can explain in words is to get a manual boost controler.
But those are expencive a few of my buddies have homemade ones and they
work the same some times better.

I will talk to them see what they used and try to get a diagram or something.
