help with reading codes...

i just bought another supra this one is a 91 targa turbo 5speed with 3 inch exhaust.
oh it has 90,000 original miles.:icon_bigg but the car likes to do its own thing rite now.it will idle like shit sometimes then it will idle perfect but when it idles like shit and i turn the car off it wont start it will just turn over. until i reset the ecu which makes me think its throwing a code.my problem is i have no clue how to read codes and i have looked everywhere.tsrm,etc
the car also runs like shit and i hit fuel cut after the car is warmed up.

Start at page FI-23 of the TRSM and read stickies/FAQ/Searches for other tips. You basically have to jumper the E1 and T1 terminals in the Diag box, then read the amount/sequence of flashes of your Check Engine Light. The TRSM has a list of codes and what they mean, in that same section.
