Lol, I wasn't laughing at the car not being able to make it into the 12's. It's just that a lot of ppl have a problem laying down the power just right to do it.

people dont have a problem making 12 second POWER...they have a problem making a 12 second PASS.... its the driving not the car ;)

I wasn't laughing at the do-ability of a 12 second supra, I was laughing because he said "only 12" 12 seconds is a pretty fast street car bro. It's not up there with "HOLY SHIT!!!" but it's pretty quick!!

Auto is definately the way to go with drag racing, especially with a turbo car. No human can possibly shift as fast as an auto tranny. Also with shifting a manual transmission (unless you power shift--READ: Bad for the tranny) you're removing your foot from the gas pedal, thus letting the turbo's built up pressure escape, having to rebuild the pressure in the next gear. With an auto tranny, it's foot to the floor for 1,320 feet.

Quit with the "If you wanna run 12's build the transmission" bullshit...

Just freshen up the trans, it's good for 400tq.

I'm running 13.1's on street tires and stock turbo, with room to up the boost. I planned on strapping on stickies, dropping the cat-back, upping the boost, and running some 12's later today...but I'm sick and it's probably going to rain. :(

BIG auto trans cooler and oil cooler.
Intake, hardpipes, spearco IC.
Lex afm, 550cc injectors, walbro, SAFC2 and afpr.
Defcon DP-->test pipe-->Nur spec.
3.91 LSD.

Freshen up the motor and trans. If you can spare some cash, get a higher stall torque converter. Raybestos Blue's are good clutchpacks. Heat kills transmissions, so don't be cheap when it comes to the trans cooler.

He only needs more than 350whp for a 12 if he completely sucks at life. I get very annoyed when people base their thoughts on HP-ET on a bunch of crappy times by people who can't drive out of a wet cardboard box.

I ran a 12.66 on a 60-1 ct26, 334whp 372wtq 88T 5spd.
Kenny ran a 12.5x on a stock ct26, 313whp 361wtq 86.5 GTE swap 5spd.

With the trans cooler set up right, higher line pressure, new clutchpacks and good fluid..he'll be able to dish out 12's easy without breaking.

Hell, I tell ya what. I will post a slip later this week. Stock auto, stock turbo, popping off a 12.7-12.8

(I'm cranky cause I'm sick.)

LOL I knew you'd pop up in this thread.

I could throw my bottle in the car for the hole shot...but I'd really like to run a 12.7 on one power adder lol.

Turbo Thomzilla cannot be defeated! Tremble in fear! lol
