Hey guys, i keep searching for a FFIM and info on relocating parts. I suck at searching through forums and can only find certain things. What i know is that instead of keeping stock intake and piping over to new front mount, we have less air restriction, more throttle response and isn't recirculating hot air from being over the head and turbo. Just a couple questions and concerns, pictures are welcome.

- Does battery need to be relocated?(plan on doing a swap to the trunk in the future)
- with the drop down bracket for the alternator can i keep my A/C
- is a direct replacement ebay intercooler good enough?
- what throttle body is good to slap on it?

Any other information would be awsome, this is more of a noob experience willing to learn more. Just don't call me an idiot lol.

im building my own right now too. i am new to supras but not toyotas.
my AC was already yanked so im going to make my intake mani go under the alternator. it should be a perfect fit from the mocking up that i've done.
imo the ebay innercoolers are fine. obviously there are better ones but for what you pay it works. i think the best bang for buck is an oem junkyard innercooler
cause the manufacturers "usually" put pretty good parts in there. the dsm sidemount is pretty thick and if modified could make a good front mount. also the starion is already a front mount
and looks like it would do very well. there are volvo ones that are plastic end caps but are rated for like 300 something HP.

as for throttle body you got me. im keeping what i got.

i want to move the battery but im making it so that i dont have to.

good luck dude.

i havn't seen one go under the alternator yet, mind throwing up a pic of it? And yah have to have the AC, the ladies love it. The stock intercooler is pretty badass, but i would like to get a new one with a bigger core. Keeping the stock throttle body sounds like a good idea also, just a little modification to it. If there is a nice cheep bolt on to the mani im all ears.

thats what im building. a cheap bolt on to the bottom half of the intake mani. and i believe you would have to have no AC. not sure since i've never had AC and dont know the clearance. as of right now i dont have pics. i need to get my welder back up and running first.

Sethron builds bolt on units that'll do what you want. He makes an alternator drop down unit, it'll fit with the AC, only things you'll have to deal with is extending the TPS harness and relocating the battery to the hatch. Well, and intercooler pipes, of course.

Generic Ebay aisian intercoolers are pretty damn fine quality these days, and one of them will work great. Check with Aaron at Driftmotion, I'll bet he knows off the top of his head which ones will fit between our frame rails.

You'll also have to put in a BOV on the intercooler piping, the stock bypass won't cut it when it has to be mounted all the way on the other side of the engine bay.

Toyolla: post osme pictures when u get the chance i'd like to check it out.

and Grim sounds awsome, excuse me if this is a noob question but is sethron a member or are they a company. I'm very interested in his mani, like the sound of keeping my AC. With the drop down bracket will the AC stay in place and share a bolt with the alternator bracket?
