Take out the upper plastic pipe, replace with metal tubing with the adapter for the BOV

Why don't you just get the piece that fits into the ssqv that alows a hose to hook up to it for recirculation? You're going to get a nasty backfire between shifts when boosting (I did anyways). Just plug up the old hole in the 3K pipe, or just put a new pipe there instead. Hell, while your at it and you've got that much piping replaced, go ahead and do it all!

That's why I want to run the HKS and stock so I won't have the backfire and bog. Maybe I didn't ask the right question. Can I run the stock and HKS BOV together and how?

yes

just replace the plastic piece with the hks unit.

Get a vaccuum "T" from autozone....splice into a vaccuum line.

Hookup vacuum to new bov

leave stock bov in place

Done

What's the point in getting an upgraded BOV if you keep the stock one in place? The stock one may still leak air back to the intake and the HKS is still going to vent some air to the atmosphere, so you get no benefits and the additional detriments to performance.

:withstupi take off the stock BOV, plug up the 3K pipe (or replace completely) and plumb the new line off the BOV back to the accordian hose (or equivilant).
Will it still bog and backfire if I do this?

If you are talking about the hole where the stock by-pass valve was hooked up on the 3000 pipe, then yes. Either that, or replace the 3k pipe completely. The hole on the accordian hose that plumbs into the other side of the by-pass valve needs to be re-routed to the hks ssqv. When you say "plug up the line from the Intake" it's kinda confusing as the 3k pipe and accordian hose can both be considered as part of the intake.

Hope that helps ;).
