ok, this is going to be a long post. recently my radiator popped a leak right in the top...and it happens that was one of the only things I havent replaced on the car.
So last Fri. i got my koyo stock replacement in, I completely flushed the cooling system before hand, when I put the new one in I filled it up with toyota red coolant, along with a new T-stat too.
his last sat on my way to work my fan shroud hit the fan a bit busted it to pieces and knocked a blade off the fan.....I converted to a electric fan setup, got that in ran good, nice and cool, no problems.
then the next day drove around and the temp needle started rising... pulled over and turned it off before it got anywhere close to red....drove around the rest of that day and didnt go up at all. later that night the car shut off and died on me... no warning, no sputter...everything electrical went out.
Messed around with it on the side of the road, got it to fire back up, drove it home and didnt find anything wrong. Ok, now today I drained the coolant to look for any oil and not one bit, completely clean.
So I decided to give it another go, then temp gauge started rising again....pulled over and shut it off for a minute, and to get it home I had to take the highway, so I went for it, temp gauge didnt move, and my oil pressure was right.
Got all the way to my exit and then all my gauges cut off....RPM, temp, battery, oil pressure.....but the car was still running and I decided to get it home (another 5 min drive) got it in my garage and shut it off asap.
I have no clue whats going on right now, the only other thing I can think of is the water pump, thats the only thing I havent replaced. Im also going to drain the oil to look for any contaminates, and prob do a compression test.
as far as the gauges go Im really clueless. Im getting so fed up with this motor im almost ready to pull it and just wait till I finish my gte. Any help that I can get would be great. (sorry for the long post)
