Help to identify part?

Hi Everyone,

I have a '89 7M-GE engine that I'm changing out the rod bearings. After pulling the engine and mounting on the stand, I rotated the engine and this part fell out from somewhere near the front of the engine (see attachment).
I can't seem to locate where it goes or what it is? :aigo:
Could anyone steer me in the right direction me?

Thanks for the speedy response! I don't see any oil cooler or oil adapter. Although, it is a 7M-GE non turbo engine. I checked the relief valve plug in the oil pump cover and it looks good, spring in tack, so that's not it. Still a bit of a puzzle:: hommer ::

Oups sorry, didn't read correctly it was a 7MGE

It may also be related to power steering. It seems to be an hydrolic part.
I have no other idea, see other's answers Hope you'll sort that out.

Yup you took one too many things off the pump when you took the line off.

It was, sure enough, the valve for the power steering pump.
