My friend has an RX8 and he bought some 18x 8.5 and the fronts fit perfect but the rears poke out a bit... What can he do to tuck that wheel in a bit???

Yeah. I don't know what the RX8's rear suspension looks like, but if it's a macpherson type strut, he can always pull the camber bolt off of the strut and replace it with a smaller bolt, thus allowing much more rear camber... but we're talking like 20* to fix that.
I would say roll/pull/stretch the rear fenders FTW.
Even if he got flares, he'd have to pull the rears or even cut them.

that car looks fucking sick, btw.

what's wrong with leaving them the way they are?
How about loading the suspension and cutting a tire on your own car.

I think he just needs to sell those and get new ones if he wants to do it right.

Yeah if his suspension moves at all, its gonna ruin a perfectly good tire. Ive done that on my street truck rear tires which cost $400/ea new :(
I would get the fenders pulled just enough to fit those wheels. Those concave wheels are hard to get arent they?

Did he pick out those offsets himself or is that what was recommended? I would sell/send them back and get something that actually fits.
