I have an R154 paired up with a 2JZ-GTE running the ACT Extreme clutch setup. I have a shifter extension to make the shifter sit further back 3" to fit my MK IV Supra. I use the stock shifter with a NEW rubber boot, NEW shifter gasket, & Marlin Crawler bushings.

Since I have a custom made shifter housing, I used silicone gasket sealer to seal the shifter housing onto the tranny. Now I constantly have fluid leaking from the new rubber shifter boot that I installed. I saw a diagram that showed a rubber shifter housing gasket. It appeared that the gasket extended into the housing to perhaps keep large amounts of fluid from entering the shifter.

Could someone please verify this? I am loosing my mind and the smell is driving me nuts! :aigo:

So your saying you dont have the gasket in the picture?
The trouble is that that gasket is used with the shifter housing, and there are spacers so that gasket gets compressed just enough.
With your current setup, can the housing be spaced up a few mm?
I wonder what the SC300 shifter extension uses.

What about the metal spacers in the gasket you posted?
Are you using that gasket?

There is toyota orange fipg for trans/diffs.

What Custom extension housing are you using?

Any pics?

There are no metal spacers. I am using a custom extension the person that I purchased the tranny from built. I should have the tranny out of the car tomorrow. I will post pics then.

Trying to find pics of how it should have been extended... That doesn't look right as it looks like fluid can be trapped up inside quite easily.

Both gaskets in the shifter are about two months old with less than 300 miles on the car.

The custom piece is siliconed to the tranny. I just pulled it off and I found no evidence of the silicone being breached.

I think I will be making my own baffle gasket out of some rubber that I have. I did also note that there was more than a tablespoon of fluid in the end of that shifter. Essentially a small pool there.

I have the right mind to scrap this and just order the one from drift motion, but my wife will kill me if I spend another dollar on this tranny project.

Thanks for the help guys!

You can maybe do something like a slope inside the extension to let the oil drain oil. Just a suggestion but I don't know if it is possible.
