ah, well that explains it then. I've heard that before but figured it was bs. Guess it was true, lol. Oh well, I plan on turboing the car using the GTE electronics anyway, so I guess its all ok. And the swap will definitely take place in less than 6 mos anyway and if someone hits me between now and then Ill just have to take a GTE in its place.

Progressive isn't bad at all. They saved my butt when I got in a wreck in my Celica(and gave my $4K for it even though they were selling for 2500-3000).
Right now I'm paying 110 a month for full(every option). That's with 1 ticket and a wreck last summer(totalled both cars, minor injury to 1 person).
I figure it will drop some next spring when the other ticket drops off.

As for them telling you it's a turbo, I would be talking to the supervisor. There's no sense in paying extra for something you don't have.

YEAH! It's NOT a turbo, their records are wrong.
If you really like this company, surly you can talk with another agent, another supervisor. Have them research it on the internet. Don't let them charge you for something you don't have. Also once it's in the system that you have a turbo it will be even harder to get it corrected later.

I'm sure it's the insurance company's fault since your VIN has MA70 in it. They need to get their shit together.

What company are you going with, anyway?

Whatever happens, I hope it works out in your favor.

Not ALL MA70 chassis where N/A , Apparently there was such demand for turbo cars or so the story goes that some MA70 chasis where shipped with turbos. this is according to Arnout which is second or third hand info at best http://www.supras.nl/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=5&Itemid=6

I've posted so many times with information about how that's not true. There's no fancy story or anything, there's also NO MA71 CHASSIS! :p

All MK3's have either GA70, JZA70, or MA70 chassis. In North America we all have MA70's. The only time MA71 comes up is in the VIN, never in the chassis code, and it's only to denote if the car was Turbo or not, even though the chassis is still MA70.

Also, Sport Package N/A's did NOT come with a spoiler, if any N/A's have a spoiler, it's because the dealer did it, or a previous owner. :)

Since it's an N/A VIN number, they're system is just wrong, go to Toyota, and ask for a printout of all the options on your car, give them your VIN, they'll give you a printout of whether it's Turbo or N/A, 5-speed or Auto, etc. Give that to the insurance company.
