Sorry to revive an utterly ancient thread...but I want to polish my exhaust tips (they look all black and sooty & gross) but I think it is an aftermarket cheap stocker replacement setup...if I polish it, will it come out all shiny and blinged? or does the polishing only work on certain types of metal?

Oh, and why was Siman banned?

Any metal can be polished, some are just hard to polish than others. If you look at the pictures I attached, you'll see that the stainless steel partial downpipe on my turbo is polished. It's a hard metal, so extra work is involved, but it can be done.

As for Siman, I don't know for certain, but I think he made another racial slur....

Old thread from the DEAD. :aigo:

I followed all the advise here, I went with 80, 100, 220, 400, 600, 1500. That was the closest grits I could find. Anyway, after I was all done with the 1500 I used blue magic polish and a white bar but couldn't get the shine I want. I read this and a couple other threads about polishing but can't find any product names. What do you guys recommend? Also for the white rouge bar was I supposed to add water? It looked like it rubbing on to the wheel.
