I just paid a healthy chunk of change to have my head gasket and all seals replaced including valve seal guides.
A leak down test was performed after the fact and all looks good.
However, at start-up, even after it sits for just an hour, there is smoke - light blue. I am losing no coolant now, yes the head gasket was bad.
The car is a collector's condition car completely OEM and it just turned 74,000 miles. It was never ever abused and had absolute perfect maintenance. I am unsure as to why the head gasket went out, it has never had any modifications.
It is a 1987 Turbo with automatic transmission.
From what I can see on this forum, it could be the turbo seal. If it is this, how does that cause smoke ONLY at start up? It is a LOT of smoke for about 10 seconds, then clears up. How can I check that it might be the turbo seal and how might I go about fixing it - is it easily accessable and replaceable or do I need to have the Turbo rebuilt?
If it is not the turbo seal, what things would you professionals check listed in priority.
