Help on turbo timers for the NA ma70 chassis

1986 mk3 with a 1992 sc300 2jzge motor. The engine harness and ecu is a all from the lexus. the body harness is still the original supra harness from 1986.

im putting a aem ems on the 2jzge and bolting on a turbo. So this turbo should have a turbo timer correct?

I have been looking at the hks turbo timer type 0 and 1. I like the options of type 1 but it needs a (speedo) input but the manual transmission is cable driven so idk how to make use of the snazzy features of the type 1, any ideas on how to hook type 1 up?


question #2 is this the harness i would use on the NA chassis?

The speedometer/combination meter converts a usable speed signal and outputs it from connector 'D'(a connector on the back of the combination meter) pin 6 (a yellow wire with red tracer)and it goes over to the glovebox area and into connector 'M1' pin 3 and becomes a pink wire where it used to go into the ECU, but I'm not sure if you have this hooked up for your swap.

I have a HKS type 1 TT and it works fine with that signal.

awesome so you can get your 0-60 times and 1/4mile pretty accurately?

Yes, to the best of my knowledge that harness will work. There were no differences on that connector between the N/A and the turbo models. It is located right below the steering column. But know this, that harness only houses the ignition functions for the basic operation of the turbo timer. You will have to splice into the vehicle harness at other locations for the hand brake, speed, and rpm signals that allow for the type ones higher functions.

And yes the 0-60 and 1/4 mile times seemed pretty accurate, though I never looked to seriously into just how accurate.
