Safe mode shuts off internet and other things...

The ONLY thing I did to this comp when I got here was I changed the video settings... My mom had them on BIG ass blind person settings, I just made it higher res...

I tried this guys approach:
Download Memtest , put it on a floppy disk, restart your computer and let the program check for errors. I vote for bad RAM.http://www.memtest.org/download/1.65/memtest86+-1.65.floppy.zip
But I cant reboot with that disk, it says invalid disk, remove disk and press any key...

It just rebooted on me again... Im about to throw this bish out the window! :icon_razz

No... I just dont see how changing the resolution would cause this problem... If it is the problem, I see a scene from Office Space happenin on this computer... *someone has to know what Im talkin about, lol*

lol! yeah I got ya! kind of ruins the moment when that happens :biglaugh:

To update the drivers go...

start menu > settings > control panel > look for "system" icon > "hardware" > then look for "device manager"

Once you get there, look for

1) sound > then whatever has "Driver" attached to it
2) display adapters

under those two, right click and the things under those topics and click properties and look for a tab that says "driver" on both. Then it should have an option to update

Sorry if some of that doesn't make sense...I'm talking to like 4 people at once and was trying to type this out

hahah, only one...maybe two...three at most should have a "Driver" tab on it, just those
When I right click them, they ALL have an update driver tab... One has a disable tab... And they all have a scan for hardware changes tab...

So, is that right?

haha, I guess you could try clicking the update driver and scan for hardware changes tabs. Are you doing this in XP? (if so maybe that explains some of it, haha)

Dude, if I wasn't deployed right now, I'd help you out. Hell, I'd fix it FOR you. I haven't read this whole thread, but one thing I do know is unless the hardware is fried somewhere or there is an ungoldly hardware conflict that the OS can't re-assign resources to, a brand new format/re-install of OS and drivers works wonders.
