Ok boys and girl,

Have a problem and need some help. My wife and I just had our first child. We had a little girl last week. We are very happy. Because we just had a baby I took off all of last week and this week to be at home with my wife and daughter (sounds wierd to say that). So this is where the help comes in. I store my Supra for the winter in a heated shop at my wifes parents farm. My plan was to go and get it on easter weekend which is a few weeks away. Her parents farm is 200 miles from fargo. I was thinking since I have the time off this week I could go get it and trailer it back. My wife wants me to wait and spend time with her and our baby. Am I selfish for wanting my car? Its been a long winter and total seperation has sucked. Let me know what you think. If you think I should go and get it I need a good reason so help me out.

well first off congrats on the new baby girl. i have three and they are funn let me tell you and second just explain to her that you want to go get the car because when warmer weather gets here you will already have it to drive. not that you dont wanna spend time with them. im sure she will understand. hope this helps

I've found that most of the time, babies are for the ladies, and children are for the guys. She's going to think that you are wasting some of the best time of the baby's life if you go get it.

Honestly, I'd chalk it up to one of those things you do to keep them happy, and wait for the car.

I'm with Grim...it's not worth the conflict. The Supra is in a safe place and you'll have plenty of time to drive it through the summer. I know she'll want to get to her parent's to let them see the baby soon and that will be a perfect time to get the car.

I say do the test while she's as young as possible.
put her in the driver's seat and let her sit up. Just sit and watch what she does. If she cries then she's gona be a girly girl, if she grabs the wheel, and makes turbo sounds then you have something special there.

the babys her baby, but the cars your baby! jk

but seriously, there's 24 hours in a day tons of time for both, kids sleep lots, hell once the kids a year or 2 old having them in a play pen with some toys while you work o nthe car will make them more then happy and possibly even get them interested in cars when they get older.

kids can be great with cars. my oldest is 10 and can tell you how to do things like change oil, brakes, PLUGS, and a lot of other stuff. and yes its a girl! she can even do wrench/csocet sizes!

congrats on the new kid. dont take the early times for granted

i dont get it though? 200 miles isnt exactly a full out road trip. you can do it in a day, unless you were planning on spending the night or something?

being a father of two boys I would say that you need to spend time with her she will most likely go through some depression soon and will need support. Or just take them with ya

yeah, but for a two year old 86 is much easier to say...plus she taught herself that by watching Initial D. I was almost floored when I heard her say it the first time while I was playing Gran Turismo 4...I was sooo proud. :)

and she has the right point. supra is supra. the mk III is technicaly the first supra. the other 2 gen's are celica's.

my youngest learned the phrase "pukestain(mustang)" at a early age.
