Well if you have the money I guess that is another story. The 6-speed swap is quite hard though and isn't too easy the shifter doesn't align correctly when yo install it into the mkiii and other problems also occur.

Tunnel banging and cutting.
custom Driveshaft
Stock MKIII diff is to big (3.72 is the tallest) making the V160 1st gear worthless so you are back down to a 5 speed anyway.

How much HP can the R154 tranny take. I have heard that the tranny starts to slip after 750HP. Dont know how true it is but I know the 6spd can handle the HP.

depends on how you drive. Dyno HP it can probably handle well over 1000. On the road...depends on you and the condition of the tranny.

Uhh say what?

A manual tranny "slipping"? Like slipping internally?

Who was the genius that told you that? :icon_evil

Oh, I know the problems, I didn't want to give full detail until it was asked. :\

For some of you out there posting, how many of you actually have cars over 500hp? Pipe dreams for many I bet... I personally want around 400-450 hp. For around 900 dollars like Doward said I can do a full rebuild on a 7m with stock internals and hit these goals and then some if it were pushed a bit and there are plenty of guys over this mark on stock internals so it does still have room for improvement. Why would you not want to rebuild a 7m :)

HAHA.. Slipping a r-154, you can grind teeth off, but slipping?

Sorry using to much slang, but you knew what I was talking about though.:nono:. Well my plans seem to have changed for good this time. Instead of the 2JZ im going with the 7M. Cant fix the car and get my families paperwork all done at the same time. Family got love em.:icon_evil
