I just about ready to buy my wheels, but need some help choosing a tire. Im going to be doing a staggered setup with 245's in front and 275's in the back. It would be noce to get 285's in the back, but not the biggest deal. I want to know what kind of tires you guys have and how do you like them. I don't race, but I do drive aggressivley occasionally. Whether they are stock wheels or staggered, I want to know.

Below is a list of tires I've been looking at:

Falken GBR FK-451
BFG G-Force Sport
Kumho Ecsta Supra
Yokohama AVS
Hankook Ventus Sport

Here is what is important to me:

Road Noise
Treadwear
Dry/Wet traction
Cornering ability (good or bad sidewalls?)

PLEASE any input is greatly appreciated

The tirerack.com user reviews are pretty good for this stuff. Select your tire and have at er! I can't personally comment on any of the ones you've listed.

I have BF Goodrich g-sports on my cam and echo very cheap and best for the buck, Def can vouch for these tires. For my sup i am hoping to go 295-50-15's on BFgoodrich drag radials But havent tried it yet.So..Dont have anything on that, But i have seen some 275's on here..But, a lil short for my taste..I think 295's will fill the fender well a lil bit more.

after looking around I've decided to go with the new Falken RT-615's. From what I've read the general idea is that they are the bomb on cornering, treadwear, and even strait line grip. But then again I'm not concerned about road noise, which I hear they have a lot of.

I've also got the Kumho Escta Supra's on mine right now...they aren't quite enough to hook up good in 2nd gear on a 225F/255R setup. I haven't pushed them too far on the cornering, but so far they work great in my book. Pretty quiet as well. Haven't driven them enough to comment on treadwear, but they seem to be holding up fine for now.

I got dunlop sp sports with a 245 rear anda 215 front I can corner really good but thats cause i got tein flex coilovers. I can hardley get the tires to hook only on certain types of roads. They are also very quiet.

i've been working for a tire shop for a very long time. and i have tried out many tires. i've tried out all of the tire you have listed except for the ecsta supras. and personally out of all those i'd say the G Force Sport. the others are crap.

also i'd like to add that you should spend the extra money per tire for the G Force TA KDW well worth the extra 10 bucks (depending on size, and where)...

FK451 are crap in the rear, not much grip from'em, but in case of drifting, they are a great tire to have in the front. Yokohama AVS ES100? i'm assuming you are talking about are garbage, the AVS Sports on the other hand have great dry grip. and as for as hankook goes, i think it's their new one, the RS2? not sure, but they are the ones that resemble the tread pattern of the advan neovas. they have a great balance between grip in dry and wet. very good tire for the daily driver weekend warrior type of deal.

other tires tho to keep in mind that are awesome but overlooked would be Dunlop FM901, Bridgestone Potenza RE730, RE750, goodyear eagle f1, and aws far as consistency (sp?) goes the nitto 555's grip well and even a few laps at the track, yo'll get the same amount of grip each lap if not more, unless there is a noticable amount of wear.

My top 5 thought outta of the tire selecton i've tried would be..
1) Yokohama Advan Neovas AD07
2) Yokohama Advan AO32R Hard Compound
3) BFGoodrich G-Force T/A KDW
4) Bridgestone S-03 Pole Positions
5) Falken Azenis RT-615

I had BFG G-Force Sport's on my 3000GT...hooked up decently, cornering was pretty good, and as far as low-profile goes, they just might be the best in the rain...For sound, I never noticed being that I always have some kind of fat exhaust under my car:evil2:

Hankook Ventus Sports I had for a very short period of time on some 18's on my 240. They were more used for burnouts more than anything being that they were an extra set that I bought for cheap.

Last but not least,
Kumho Ecsta Supra 712's...were on an Eclipse...bought them when I got my 18's...and when it was time for new ones, bought them again. I liked them quite a bit on a count of a never really "raced" anybody but they were quiet, had good handling and made for an overall pretty smooth ride. For tread wear...they were probably a 7 out of 10. (10 being good) But then again I had stupid camber, slammed on 18's and tucking 'em...They were only 225's so if you are running something a little thicker/wider, you should be fine with these. Only reason I had to replace them so quickly was because the insides of the tires were rubbing...Good luck!

Seems like you're asking for everything? Most tires that handle really well dry/wet and cornering don't usually get good treadwear and low road noise.

If you want all of the above, you'll have to compromise somewhat, don't get the highest rated performace tires and just get an all around good sport or all-season tire. I agree with tirerack, it's a great resource to read, lots of review and they quantify everything which is nice (everyone votes on a scale which gives you better feedback).

Me personally, I intend to get Toyo T1R or T1S Proxes. I had the older T1's 5-6 yrs ago and they're the best tires I've ever owned to date. Plus they excel in dry traction more so then most any tire and here in southern california, that's what matters the most! :) Plus they are fairly good in wet roads too. But I don't remember them being quiet or having good treadwear!!! :)
