HELP!!!! Just rebuilt and now knocking when getting on the rpms and loss of power

Hey guys, so i just rebuilt my engine, 7mge complete rebuild. New pistions, gaskets and bearings. The engine before had a rod knock. so it got tore down and rebuilt, polished and mic....now the engine starts, idles fine, but when stepping on it, it begains to knock. when i mess with my dizzy to set timeing, the knocking seems to go away between rpms. but as it is...maybe i messed up my timing bet somehow with the timing alingment. anyideas?

Where does the noise seem to be coming from?

Also check your crank dampener bolt and alignment.

when its idleing no sound!! Sounds beautiful, i get on the gas and it just clak clak clak, when im in the engine bay, its hard to distigush but it sounds to be coming from the bottom half of the bottom end again.... but a neibhor thinks its coming from betweent he head and block lol.....

I will go check my crank dampener right now

crank dampaner and bolt torqed to spec and tight. doesnt seem to be wobbleing or anyhting

sounds like hardcore knocking. did you use a timing light and remember to jump the connecterd in the diag connector before setting timing?

have yet to do the timeing light....i gotta wait till tomorrow to do that. it dumped snow on us. i may have the timeing fd up, but i had the cam marks and everythign lined up...i hope it was good.. ughhh i need this thing to run

check to see if the crank pulley bolt is loose

crank pulley is tight, went out this morning on my way to college. grabbing some tools from school. will be working on it after class today weather permitting

Flywheel bolts cause the same sound if they are loose. So does a cracked flexplate if you're automatic.

hey all!! thanks for all the thoughts! ive tried everything. check it all! and it didnt do anything. ive ended up pulling it and tearing it down. checking my work. cant figure it out! ima just gonna buy another engine and say f to this one

try a different distributor, if you can find a extra. ;]
