I just purchased this motor 3 days ago and was looking over the motor and found this. I'm new to the whole JDM 2jzgte swap and was wanting to see if you see anything wrong with this picture. There are 3 places for ball bearings at the back of the head and appears that one has popped out of place. What could be the problem IF there is one? Any help regarding this matter would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Oil or water seepage??? You should be avle to tap and seal it. I know some guys remove these bearings during major overhauls and reseal them at least on the engine side.

Don't worry...It is the way it should be.
This is the place where the EGR cooler should have been IF the motor
was a USDM or EUR spec engine.JDM engines don't have EGR systems!
Which is good, cause this system generates heat at the 5 & 6 cylinders.
Many people with USDM motors install some block of plates and disable the
EGR system...

Yeah, I was kinda worried, but I noticed slits along the spark plug galley and was thinking it was a drain hole. Thanks for relieving my mind. I also found decent sized specs of water (Not coolant) in the bottom of the oil pan when I pulled the lower pan last night. I'm thinking it's maybe just the condensation buildup of sitting for soo long but I popped the valve covers off and found no rust on the lobes of the cams. You guys have any other ideas to what the wter is from? I really don't think it's a BHG, the motor is out of an Aristo so I don't think the motor would have been reamed or anything! Thanks again guys
