ok so as it says the engine wont even crank I just finished changing a bhg and resurfacing the head along with new platinum spark plugs and new injectors on my 89 this was my first time doing so. I ran the system test and the codes that popped up were 12- R.M.P signal, 24- intake air temperature sensor signal and 31- air flow meter signal. I looked up the codes online to get more info and im thinking code 12 is the main problem since this is what the page said ECU has no "NE" or G" signal within 2 seconds of crankingCPS/distributor (or circuits) Starter signal circuit. code 31 said VC open circuit or short circuit between VS and E2 when idle contacts closed and code 24 said Intake temp Open or short circuit in intake air temp sensor signal Air temp sensor / circuit, Check AFM and wiring. ill put a link to the page in at the bottom of the post. those were the only codes that popped up. im hoping some guys with more experience working on the engine can help and give me some ideas on what it could possibly be and how to get it worked out any ideas and info is much appreciated.

ok turns out the positive terminal wasn't tight enough even though I had to pry it off. so now it cranks but doesnt start I know the timing is off and I did what the the TSRM stated to do but no luck could it be when the machine shop put the cams back on they didn't mark their location properly and that's whats causing the problem.

No not unless you installed the timing belt and cam gears wrong.

id start with checking for fuel and spark

verify cps position as well

There is no CPS on a 7M-GE engine ! But check the distributor is in the right place.

There are a number of things that can prevent it starting, just one bad connection after you've had the engine out will prevent it, so clean and re-plug all the connectors on things like TPS, AFM, etc.

But I agree, if you have fuel and spark, worth checking the cams are in the right place.
