I am halfway through installing brand new Eibach springs and tems compatible tokico illuminas into a 1988 US spec Supra. I have the them all together and have installed the top bolts, but cannot line up the bottom. Please see pictures and throw out some advice! Thanks!

I think How I did mine was I disconected the sway bar link t get the extra drop, I'm sure there other ways of doing it.

Can't you jack up the Shocks and collasape it enough to get your bolt started? Or can't you get a drift punch to get it started (pry up on it) and then put the strut bolt from the other side?

Why not unbolt from the shock towers, let the suspension drop all the way (hubs as low as they can), then attach the bottom shock bolt and then the upper mounting nuts?

Unless the suspension is at full drop already...

Pull the shock away from the shock mount, push the wheel assy. down and position the shock slightly above it. Then allow the wheel assy. to come up. it should then slid in.

Sweet advice. I went with unbolting the sway bar allowing me to drop the hub a touch more. Now I'm starting on the fronts but I can't get the coil/strut assembly out! It's loose, but the upper control arm is in the way. I don't need to remove the upper control arm do I?

Thanks for the time and advice!

When i did mine a lot of times already, i just remove the upper control arm out of the way. Installing it i had someone push down on the hub assembly then position the shock on top of it and let it sink in.

It's one long bolt ;) and yes it has to come out for you to do the front.

That was the bolt that finally defeated me and forced me to buy a proper breaker bar lol. 5 seconds with a breaker bar and it was out of the way though.
