hey guys i just picked up a supra.the turbo has horrible shaft play the wheel has scorred the housing.the boost gauge on the car (aftermarket) would read from 18ish in.vac. to 0 psi when stepping on it.I know i got boost leaks, the most apparent was the bov hose was barely hanging in there, and when i removed teh 3000 pipe i didnt have to loosen the clamp at the t body at all i just pulled it out and teh coupler is ripped.

I know i have these leaks but shouldnt i still be getting more than 0 pounds?i would thing i could built 2-3 pounds but this is my first turbo car so i don't have that much experance...thanx in advance...

If you have severe leaks it stands that you wouldn't make boost, not to mention the condition of the turbo. These things are clearly wrong and are your low hanging fruit, so pick them, because you can't expect your car to run properly with problems like this. Get yourself a rebuilt turbo and fix the leaks, then see where it gets you. Since you see problems this obvious, it would probably pay to go ahead and build a boost leak finder and check your intercooler and other places for leaks too.

well basicly i'm just trying to make sure that this could be my only problem...my buddy was arguing with me that i should still be building some boost so i'm skeptical....

i already pressure tested my intercooler and it tested out fine...there are a couple hoses ripped so i'm replacing those....boost leak finder?

If the bearings are that bad there's a good chance the Wheel is rubbing the housing and slowing the compressor enough to stop it making boost (But fast enough to put Aluminium shavings through the IC and into the motor)
