Help!!! Car keeps dying...

Where is the TPS located on the 7mge? I think it's going out, cause if you just let it idle it wants to die, the rpms get down to below 500 and then it makes a popping noise in the exhaust. What is going on?

Make sure you've got a good connection to each pin. If you still cannot get it to go into the diagnostic mode you can try it at the ECU. I'd check the harness though, as there's obviously an issue in that case.

Two other things you can check are the TPS' IDL switch, the AFM's FC switch, and try cleaning out the ISC. Details for all of these are under the FI secions of the TSRM, also located at the site linked to above.

sounds like your timing is off by the popping in the exhaust

i'm thinking that your connector to the TPS might be dirty, this is pretty common. just disconnect it, clean both ends, and see if that helps
