Help Annoying Idling Problem

well ive got an idling problem with my car.
The car idles fine when stopped but when driving and then getting on it a little bit then letting off and pushing in the clutch the car will idle down so low it dies sometimes it will catch its self and idle up.
When cruzing the car will start idling at 2000+ RPMs and gets really annoying cause when I go to shift the car will take off but it doesnt do this all the time but does it alot.

Any help?

you could have a vacuum leak, could even be bad gas.

If I push in my clutch while the car is warming up the rpms go down maybe 200rpms

How long has this been happening for? Done anything recently to it?
Happens all the time or duing a hot start?

I dont think its a vacume leak cause I pulled a vacume hose off and the car started running funny then and the vacume was real strong. I also dont hear any leaks.
Most of the time i notice it is when its cold. I have to drive about 5-6 miles to go to school and it does it all the way there. But i dont drive many other places

Things such as leaky intake gaskets, intercooler pipes, hose clamps, cracked vaccum lines and malfunctioning bov's will cause the idle to drop way down and then stumble back up upon decleration. Any air leak will cause a rich condition on decelaration, making it hard to idle.

I had very similar problems with my car, turned out the EGR was bad, my fix, took the vacum line off the EGR, the one coming from the throttle body. I plugged the line from the throttle body and just left the nipple on the EGR open. I get an engine code now telling me my EGR is bad, but all my problems idleing are gone.

the potentiometer is the thing inside the TPS isnt it?
can you just replace it or do you have to replace the whole TPS?
How much do they or the TPS cost?

you can pick up a used tps for like 30-35 bucks. But youll have to adjust it regardless, unless you buy one untouched on a throttle body.
