Help Alarm is not working!

I cant get my alarm to work and I dont know if its factory. The Box is under the steering column and is a black box that has no brand on it. Has an old type glass inline fuse and the wiring for it looks factory. Well the fuse is good but when I unplug it and plug it back in it unlocks or locks the doors. But never sets, Ive got a transmitter for keyless entry but it doesnt do anything either. Ive tried locking the doors and then waiting but the light never starts blinking. Any Ideas?

are you sure it's an alarm or just keyless entry?
if you security light does not start blinking then the stock system is disabled.

It might be but I dont think so...
Is there a way to enable it because nothing is working at all but when I unplug the fuse to the alarm it locks or unlocks the doors for that second when I plug it back in but nothing else.

edit: hey, just noticed you're in Oklahoma. if you want to come down and have me look it over with you, let me know. i installed my own alarm system and may be able to spot something.

Yea if only you were closer...
I noticed that there is 2 boxes, the smaller one is mounted on the firewall. and clicks when I move the wires. It doesnt look factory anymore. But a very good job on the installation except for the fact that the box falls on my feet sometimes.
The smaller box has a light and I think a button but im not for sure. I have a friend at the local toyota dealer's shop and hes gonna take at it for me.

bump on this,
ive got the factory alarm installed and it just suddenly stopped arming once the doors were locked. I also noticed when i set the alarm off i can still start the car and the alarm will shut off.

I had a friend that works at toyota look at it and he thinks its not the factory alarm and just a keyless entry too. But we did get the keyless to work. He also thinks all the factory alarm stuff is in it but disabled. Is there a way to check and where is the factory alarms "brain"?
