Help: 1jz bursting couplers, HOT IC pipes, high IAT's

Alright guys I just got the 1jz back up and running, I went for a spin down the street and when i came back i noticed i had a boost leak, checking around and there was a hole in a coupler going into the IC on the hot side. I went to the parts store and came back with a new coupler and installed it, went for another run same thing. This time i noticed that the IC pipes were so hot you couldnt touch them (it was about 100 degrees outside) so maybe this along with 18psi made the couplings fail? The car has ran in hot weather before but would the outside air temps be the cause of this? or something else possibly? It burst on my 18psi run, Anyone know what would cause the IAT's to increase to this degree? my afr's look good, maybe too much timing?

What kind of couplers are you using? You shouldn't be able to burst reinforced silicone couplers. Timing shouldn't have any effect on intake temps. It would help if you could get an actual temp on the intake piping - realistically, it doesn't have to be much above 100 before it's untouchable. I've seen intake temps above 150 in hot climates.

There just silicone couplers like you would buy from autozone or advanced. I believe its alot above 100 because you couldnt touch the pipes then again it was probably 100+ outside, nothing has changed on the car besides a electric fan. When i opened the hood you could feel the heat escape. Trying to figure out if its something i should worry about i dont want to be stranded anywere.

Those couplers aren't reinforced so they're burst with ease. Not made for boost.

15psi on the T04z/7m I used to see 129c/264f on the Hot side of the IC.

Yeah the couples from autozone/advance are not reinforced and are not silicone so any heat and they just fall apart.

What everybody else has said... if you can cut your couplers with scissors, you probably shouldn't be running them on a car like yours.

You want at least 3 ply and to be safe 4 ply ones.

Got new couplers, holds fine.. Hit 20.2 psi
