Help 1992 7mgte is making noise

:1zhelp:Well it all started when coming home from work , I started to hear a slight rattle / ticking noise from top end after 3000rpms not at low idle and no noise when idle ,sounds like top end back of motor any suggestions

If that's in the top end I would guess it's excessive valve lash. Hard to tell from the video, but I'm thinking its more likely rod knock. Valve tick in my experience sounds a lot higher pitched than your video seems.

Have you checked valve clearances? Valve lash is easy to fix. Rod knock essentially means a full engine rebuild.

Only after 2500rpms and then on

Almost sounds like a spray can rattle

It may be a long shot, but I had a random rattle. It ended up being the bearing on my tension pulley.

That doesn't sound like valves tick, it does sound's like rodknock but can't confirm that without further diagnostics

Well going to take it to a shop and I will know what the problem is , trying to find a good shop in San antonio any suggestions
