does anyone know the torque specs for ARP head studs and the nuts?

its going on my mk3 7mgte

I dont know if this is right but my friend and I put his head at 80 ft lbs.....with a mls cometic head gasket, and it hasnt blown yet....

well its a HKS 1.2 metal head gasket and i take it that you torque the nuts to 80 pounds. but the stock bolts call for 110. what do torque the studs too.

the studs dont get torqued.....only the nuts...

You thread the ARP studs into the block by hand with the supplied allen wrench. Do not torque the studs.

The stock bolts do not call for 110 ft/lbs. Try 58 ft/lbs.

yup....thats what I thought too(about the stock torque), so ya 80 is alright than...lol

Torque value applied will depend on type of lubricant used.

Try searching, it has been covered one million times 80 lbs with use of molly lube. Then re-torque to 85 lbs.

Look for directions in the box! ARP knows better than anybody, cept maybe JJ and Jdub, but they are gonna tell you to do the same thing.

yeah i put them to 80ft lbs... never had a problem!

That's a true statement
ARP torque spec for studs is 80 ft/lbs using moly for lube. Do not over torque!

It's a really good idea to properly set pre-load by going through 5 tightening/loosening cycles following the TSRM pattern...I go to 75 ft/lbs and set final torque on the 5th cycle.

Ummm....that is wrong...I wouldnt do that....80 is what everyone does....120 is way too much

my friend torqued the stock bolts to 100 on his supra and runs 20lbs of boost and nothing has happened and has won three tx2k championships.

how much boost is everyone running in their supras?

Supposedly torqued to 80 with a cometic gasket it is rated for 25 psi....so IDK

well i built my engine for 20 maybe 25 lbs of boost and later on im gonna add 200 shot of nitrous.

Well than you need to get the right gasket for it than....torquing the head more is not the answer to it....might be worse actually....
