Alright so I own a 1991 5 speed 1G-GTE supra. Every once and a while I will just be driving normally and the car will start blowing freezing cold air then go away soon after it starts. It is something I can live with but when it is blowing cold and it is -10 Celsius outside with snow it gets annoying. If there is anything easier to do to try and diagnose the problem that would be great. As I don't plan on driving the car next winter if it is a big expensive problem I don't plan on fixing it and just living with it.

Did you check and see if the valve that lets coolant into your car opens or is broken? Any clogs in your system. maybe your water pump is going... hope not.

Don't think he'd be seeing engine temp issues if that were the case?

OP: Check if the Heater on the firewall tap opens/closes with the engine running.

Turn the Ign on but don't start the engine then cycle the heat slider/button from H>C a few times and listen for the Mixer door servo.
