Just for reference before anyone buys a new resistor or cant solder up the old broken and dirty coil(s), a quick tip.
You can make a new coil from a piece of similar gauge wire by winding it round a pencil, remove the old one then solder the new one it to the tags nice and cleanly!
I did this some time ago and its still working fine.
