my neighbor did something similar, he swapped an 88 NA motor into an 89 turbo. it's the big switch year. there is some difference between the wiring harnesses, his lights stay on whenever the battery is connected. they pop up and down fine, but stay lit. he has to pull the fuse every time he parks it lol.

the interior harness?

88-89 was the big switch for all the wiring and ton of other stuff. The easiest way to come over this problem would be to just rewire the headlights onto a new switch.

i had the same problem. did the same swap. you have to change two wires in the plug that goes to the ecu. give me a little and i will find the paper work. i did it and it works like normal. DO NOT rewire or add any crazy stuff i will find it and let you know..

OK, I think I found it. Its the Red/Yellow wire in the square B1 body plug. It needs to be in the lower corner.

Ignoor the 1JZ stuff, look at the pinout on the "Male B1" plug. The "HL Relay" wire needs to be moved to posistion 22. Im not sure where it is normally, but IIRC its in the same plug.
