HEAD LIGHTS WON'T TURN OFF

:1zhelp: just completed a 7mge to 7mgte swap and head lights stay on. with key out and in hand the lights stay on regardless of the switch. when switch is on they come on when switch is off they are still on even with them down.

Let me guess, 89 body running the 87-88 engine harness?

I had the exact same problem. There is a wire in one of the body plugs that needs to be moved. The 89 used the same body plug configuration as the 87-88 except toyota moved the headlight activation wire. When you install it as-is it will cause the headlights to constantly run.

Ill see if i can find the info on which wire it is. Im sure its around here somewhere.... lol.

how good are you. you hit the nail on the head... when i pluged in the harness there were two extra wires left have on idea where to put them??:1zhelp: :1zhelp:

good looking on that...

would this relate to not getting any power to the headlight. other wise not turning on? all the other lights work.

Make sure the headlight fuses are ok first, then troubleshoot the relay. The wire that we are talking about is the ground for the activation relay fwiw.
