Hey guys i will be needing to buy a new headgasket for my 1jz so I was wondering which ones people have the best luck with. I was hoping to find something cheaper than hks but can be reliable for about 400 hp.

Why not get the complete 1JZ gasket set from Driftmotion? That way you get a new 4 layer head gasket and every other engine gasket for a really great price. Can't go wrong there.

The stock head gasket is a multi layer steel, and WILL stand up to a lot of power. I push almost 500whp through mine.

2jzs gasket is 100 from the dealer iirc..
but just buy the whole kit.. and replace everything though (valve seals, cams seals, valve coverts, etc..)

While on the topic of stock headgaskets, how well do they stand up to ARP studs and a little extra torque?
Yeah stock gasket is great. It's of higher quality than some aftermarket. Remember toyota didn't want another 7m so they overdid it lolz./

no need to really get anything other than a stock HG if you're only trying for 400. I mean you could always go with metal one tho.
