thanks guys for your input, now for the terrible part....the flange from the manifold to the exhaust pipe, i think one of the bolts is rounded off and there is no way i can fitt a vise grip or any type of pliers back there. the bolt is located inboard side of the engine closes to the block.....damn, thing is slowingme down.....how did you do it???? i need to over come this hump...(hmph) i need to take a break from this frustration....i think it will be harder putting everything back together, i took digital photos just in case thhings don't look right....

Can you get at it with a Dremel or something like that to grind off the head?

can 1 person lift the head alone or will it require a 2 person lift?

You *can* do it with just yourself if your jump up onto the car and heve at it.

I would most definitely get a friend to help for 5 mins if you can. Its a heavy piece of metal and its awkward.

I've pulled it myself, just make sure you have all the bolts out.
Putting it back on is a little harder by yourself as you have to get it lined up on the pins.

did anybody not break their injector clips latch to the wire harness. is it expensive to replace or i canjust use them, hoping they do not come off? my friend warned me about these clips being brittle and the clip latches tend to break. i have an extra harness set, but the latches are broke too...:aigo:

Yeah they do get a little brittle. I broke a couple of mine and used them as is until I changed out the injectors. You can probably tape them with electric tape for a little insurance, don't know how much they are. If you do replace them make sure you solder the wires.

Use a tiny dab of trim adhesive on each injector clip. Put it on the outside of the injector where the harness goes, not in the wire connections. A tiny dab will hold it in place, and let you pull it off later. Use too much, and it'll make a mess, and you won't be able to get it back off.

Unbolt the exhaust mani. from the head, and down by the catalytic converter.

yeah, the head is finally off, whew, what a relief. it wasn't that bad taking the head off alone, on the other hand, i stood on the shock mount tower and held the head for a good minute thinking, where the f--k am i going to put it down on, well eventually i got it on my "make-shift" workbench. thanks everyone for suggestions and info. now i have to buy new and various hoses because some felt like hard lines rather rubber hoses.....but they were rubber hoses though. thanks again everyone.
