having problums with my 7mge

when i first got it started right up with a bhg and ranned good but now i took it all apart got it all cleaned up pute new head gasket, hole new head gasket set, new oil, new oil filter, new spark plugs, new spark plug wires, and the timing i pute the came gears allined with the lines and i turned the bottom crank shaft and allined it to 0, but idk it wont start

Did you put the number one cylinder at TDC? And everythign is plugged in and grounds are all connected?

yeah i set the number one cylinder at tdc, yup every thing is pluuged and im prity sure grounds are pluged to, but the engine does turn over but no start

If you lined the marks up, it should start if everything is hooked up right. Check the ground wires that are connected to the lower manifold. It's been known that those will just fall into place right to the starter and look like they belong there....wrong

hmm idk could it be that is not starting up couse of the nock sensor?? the nock sensor is not hooked up wire got reped of some how i just found out

Nope the KS will not cause a no start. The "Check Engine Light" needs to be on when the key is on but not running.

I wouldn't worry about the KS(Knock Sensor) until you get it running.

You probably didn't line up the distributor properly, it can be tricky to get it right.

Can't put my finger on those wires sorry. Where is that vacum line going/coming from? And what is that(wire?) near the bottome left, its black and pretty big?

So does it try or sputter, do you have spark/fuel?

Yes that looks like the ground wires, they are supposed to be connected about the center of that manifold you will find a hole that takes a bolt to hold the ground wire on. I guess where you have them is OK.

Same thing happened to me and the timing on the distributor has to be pretty close to 10 degrees BTDC before it will start. Also, let it sit a while before starting it because the plugs are prob soaked in fuel. Unless you want to take each one out and torch the ends with a flame.

To put the distributor in time.
Put piston 1 at 0 degrees TDC, then take the Distributor cap off and make sure the arm is about 5-10 degrees after the plug wire #1 contact. Line your distributor up according to the TSRM.
