If you lined the marks up, it should start if everything is hooked up right. Check the ground wires that are connected to the lower manifold. It's been known that those will just fall into place right to the starter and look like they belong there....wrong :)

Can't put my finger on those wires sorry. Where is that vacum line going/coming from? And what is that(wire?) near the bottome left, its black and pretty big?

Like CyFi6 said, did you line up the distributor properly?

Your CEL works, check for codes.

So does it try or sputter, do you have spark/fuel?

One last thing, even I can tell you, you wont get many responses from the "Old School"/educated guys/gals around here(Who have a wealth of knowledge) unless you put a good effort in and do as people are asking, and believe it or not, grammar is important.

You probably didn't line up the distributor properly, it can be tricky to get it right.

Agreed.

Same thing happened to me and the timing on the distributor has to be pretty close to 10 degrees BTDC before it will start. Also, let it sit a while before starting it because the plugs are prob soaked in fuel. Unless you want to take each one out and torch the ends with a flame.

To put the distributor in time.
Put piston 1 at 0 degrees TDC, then take the Distributor cap off and make sure the arm is about 5-10 degrees after the plug wire #1 contact. Line your distributor up according to the TSRM.
