Hatch Glass

I'm thinking about buying this car and the glass is shattered. The color is not too gay is it?
Has anyone ever had to replace the glass in the hatch and if so how hard was it to do?

I haven't done it but I would think bringing it to a shop would be cheaper and it will be done right.

Make sure you can get the glass...none of the local glass replacement companies in Phoenix stocked or could get the glass. Had to order it from Japan via the dealer...took 3 weeks to get here. I was very happy the insurance company paid for this one!

What is everyones opinion on plexiglass? A plexiglass hatch would be reaaally light, but everyone always says how it would get scratched blah blah...

Plexiglass (while light in weight) is shit for street cars. It scratches easily, usually looks warped, (even when new) and has a tendency to crack or turn into dust with time, vibration and sun.

Find a junker with good rear glass and CAREFULLY remove it. Factory glass as I recall (if you can even get it) costs an arm and a leg. You can install it yourself if your dedicated, patient and prepared, but I won't lie to you it's a F'n nightmare. Also, if you decide to tackle it yourself, use a Toyota dam kit.
