I just looked at a picture of a 1g-gte and the intake manifiold looks similar to a 7m. Has anyone thought of using the upper intake pipe off a 1g instead of running a ffim. So this way you could run a front mount without all of the extra piping.

This is one of the reasons many folks think the turbo was added on as an afterthought due to poor initial reviews of the Mk3.sk6471;1480011 said:I've always wondered if Toyota had originally planned to make the 7mgte with an air to water intercooler or to run an intake pipe similar to the 1G as well. I can't imagine any engineer designing the factory route from scratch and thinking that running a pipe all the way to the front of the car to cool it just to come all the way back directly over the top of the turbo was a good idea.
