Well?

Was reading some stuff on imdb.com too... people seem to like it but at the same time they say "not much really happens in the movie".

Soooo, anyone?

I watched it last night - I enjoyed the first half a lot, the second half was a lot slower and more serious, just not as much fun to watch. There are some FUNNY lines in there... in the showers: "Hey look! It's a cock, only smaller!"

Books suck, I plan to go see this movie as soon as I can. It looks good, and from what I've heard it's good.

yeah, books kick ass.

Jarhead was a good movie, two thumbs up here...
gritty, meaningful, well done.
About my only complaint other than a lack of boobies would be that quite a bit of it made me want to enlist.

Far from a "personal attack"...

Can anybody stand the way that some people talk about certain things as if they were there and participated in them, but really don't have the slightest clue? I would say that those kind of people irritate the shit out of me, but it can be quite entertaining sometimes to see how much of a fool they make themselves look like. If only they knew.

I talked to somebody that read the book to this movie first, long before anybody knew it was going to be a movie. From what it sounds like, there is a lot more stuff in the book than there is in the movie. This is stuff that wouldn't exactly be so great for everybody to see. The libs would have a great time exploiting it.

and you would know how?
my two of my close neighbors were in the desert storm, one now has to constantly be checked up on because of his condition from the war. I'm assuming you were never there huh?
from two people who servered during the "technical" 4 day war. I think I'm going to take their word over a book, or someone who was never there. mmm kay.

Dead, the book was written by a soldier who served in desert storm, it has some really hard to handle things in it, the truth about training, missions etc... killing isn't easy.

SP.. i gotta with the mongoose, lets let the left wing right wing stuff go sometimes...i understand your personal experience my indicate opposite of what other people may know, but simply say that..no need using words like foolish etc....

im tiring of constantly having to say this...

Hey, I only had a slight mention of liberals. And most of you know that what I said is true.

You know, guys, I'm just very passionate about my beliefs [on important subjects]. I know that I may be a little over the top sometimes, so please excuse me.

Here's a thought-lets request that the liberals (beyond SM) take a break from constantly bashing and protesting the government and all other groups or people that they see as "evil." That'll be the day...

I didn't even mention anybody's name this past time, so I'm being more discreet. It was just a general statement.

You shouldn't really associate your military position with your political position. Its actually against DOD policy.

I usually don't discuss the military on this forum, all though I have established some minor details about my career in the "What's your occupation?" thread. I try to be as civilian-like as possible-my appearance goes along with that, too. I haven't even mentioned any of my military experiences or positions on this thread.

If you've got an example can you please PM it to me so that I know exactly what you're talking about? I'd be willing to discuss it with you more.
