i just don't see it as much of an upgrade. yeah it's a better platform for a turbo than the 7MGE. but for all the work required, it's just worth it to buy a GTE motor.

what's kinda funny though, since i bought another mk3. this time NA, i kinda want to keep it NA. i trust it to drive across the country anytime, couldn't do that with the turbo on there.

so i guess staying with an NA motor, you get a little more power and a reliable motor

Yea, GE's are definitely to me are more as DD cars then turbo supras any day. Since theres work to be done to them (like BHG and some other small things), but not that GTE's can't be reliable. Just that they need work until they become 100% reliable.

It'd just be nice to have someone who you can talk to about problems associated as mines. I mean yea, supras are all closely related just how there setup is can throw off everything.

2JZ-NA-T doesn't count SupraDoom. I always talk to Hottscennessey about my car and he never went 2JZ-GE. He went straight to NA-T and making it work from there. Yea its still a 2JZ but its not a GE, its a NA-T.He has many upgrades as well like FFIM,AFPR,Turbo,Standalone ECU.. etc.. I'm talking all stock 2JZ-GE running perfectly in an mk3.

Even HE was impressed when i first drove 2JZ-GE lol.

Well it's not a horrible idea, can always NA-T.
Yea, but NA-T can consume a lot of money (Cheaper then GTE but still). I've spoke to Scott about how much his GE to GE-T costed him and i don't got the money for that. Even the cheapest setup will cost more then my budget, but i'd love to do it someday.

Hey whoever buys my car could definitely do it, but no one cares about doing it. All they want that is that its done already.

^ i disagree. say you wanted to do a 2jzgte swap, but didn't have all the cash to do it right away. start with the 2jzge swap, and work from there. feel like going turbo? you've got a great platform to start with, and a good reliable motor.

if i had the time, i would have no problem doing a 2jzge swap, but, since i'm addicted to boost, i'd have to NA->T it shortly thereafter. :)

did i ever say that it wasn't? if i didn't think it was a good platform, i wouldn't be building the one in my car, and a high CR 7mgte for my '94 pickup. ;)

don't get me wrong, i love the 7m. all i said was that the 2jzge is a good platform.

I disagree with your disagree. I'd wait and save up the money and do it the way i wanted the first time ;)
