Im reading a lot of mindless dribble here in this thread, and most of it could get some one killed.

Your harness bar needs to be welded or bolted into a MINIMUM OF 4 MAIN CHASSIS POINTS.

Four great points would be the rear bottom and front side seat belt bolting / anchor points.

This harness bar's main bar needs to be a minimum of .095" 4130 or .120" DOM, 1 3x4".

The plates need to be no thinner than 1/4", mild steel.

The runners that connect the main bar to the lower rear seat belt points need to be a minimum of 1 1/4" x .095" 4130 or .120" DOM.

As for your belts, 4 points are better than stock, WHEN CORRECTLY FASTENED AND TIGHTENED.

Most people want to look "cool" and flop around in their 4 point harnesses like a stock 3 point will let you.

When you wreck head on, you "submarine" under the belts and your knees become the next coolest dash ornament.

As for mounting your belts...

Thanks for the good info.Probably 70% of the harnesses I have seen in street cars were installed incorrectly, scary shit.I have had a 4-point harness save my life on one occasion(flipped my sand rail/go kart at over 70 mph, twisted the frame all to hell, but I walked away unharmed.Had just re-installed the harness the correct way the week prior too. That is one of the reasons I started this thread,I was curious as to if the back seats were accessible with the harnesses correctly mounted.
