You already said that you had fuel pressure- why do you now think that you don't?
And you said that your alternator is making a strange noise?? When the engine is NOT running??
You said you don't have spark- focus on that issue. Check the cps- it's timing AND the condition of the 4-wire plug at the top.
Those wires get brittle, and lose contact.

well okay i actually just re-adjusted the cps and it fired right up haha! but now i have a new problem after getting it started! i think its idling super rough... it backfires randomly and i think it is running really rich! and when i try to accelerate it sputters and hesitates really bad.
i think the rough acceleration could be due to a vacuum leak but not sure why its running so rich.. and thanks guys for all the feedback!

okay how about some advice on the jumping and not sending me to tsrm where there is nothing about jumping.... its a large jump in timing... and i don't know how to fix it... how can i set base 10 when it is constant 10.15.10.15.10.15... thanks for the tsrm link and i have been using it! but i see nowhere it says in the troubleshoot of timing and ignition- timing set- trouble shoot- timing varries 5 degrees - what to check

What rpm are you checking the timing at?
Have you jumpered the T and E1 ports as the TSRM says?
Jumping might be from misfiring. You should have fresh plugs gapped at .8mm

Check codes, if you have a code 51, the timing will jump when you are trying to change it. Secondly, you should make sure you have no codes before setting timing. If you have any, fix them. If you have the largest boost leak in the world, fix your codes first, then go after that. Codes are a way for the ECU to tell you what is going on and what is not working properly.

I know about the timing jumping since it happened to me. Make sure you have no codes, especially 51, when setting your timing and also that your car is fully warmed up to operating temperature. It should idle at around 650RPM when it is fully warmed up.

Make sure you jump the terminals as well before checking timing.

Okay thanks I have been letting it warm up and it does idle around there if I remember correctly but I'm not getting any codes but honestly I could have made a mistake somewhere so today I'll be redoing the whole thing I'll get back to you guys later today!

i will post a little vid that i just took after resetting the timing... and its not that good of a video but ehh its the best i could do and i took a small clip of the backfiring but the ones on the video are small i mean small ahhaa for some reason it decided it was camera shy but it is random so i dont' know when it will come ...

here is the video the quality is bad because i just uploaded it... i hope that isn't what it looks like on my computer hahah
so i show i'm idling at about 650-700 rpm all warm the diagnostic is jumped so i can adjust timing. timing is set to base 10 and when i take it out it advances to about 12-13 ish then i show a small clip of some rather pathetic backfire some idle dip and then a small backfire again. these are seriously small backfires the ones i usually hear are much louder and it is random when they happen so i am not sure exactly when they will come

okay well i reset the codes and ran her again and now i'm getting code 24 and 31 soo... looks like maybe it could be a faulty afm and we shall see if that makes a difference haha i've got another one and 've also got a lexus one haha so we shall see
