Quick Red Head said:I had this happen to me too. The brake fluid was really low. I just filled up the resevoir and the light went off. If that doesn't fix it just try what the others have said, but I would check the level of the fluids first.
Finnon said:thatll most likely be the module in the trunk. remove it and see if its had water inside it.
Kai said:Lagged - erm, dunno if you have the same gauge cluster as us, but theres only one light on the dash that comes up if the module is busted, and thats the handbrake light, the one that looks like this: (( ! ))
I had the light come on in mine, even cut out the cruise control. Turned out not to be a fault with the brakes at all - was the module all along.
lagged said:as far as i know the only thing in the back is the tail light fault sensor. if THAT gets wet it might burn out or malfunction.
that thing messing up wouldnt light the brake light.
maybe you guys only use one light to indicate a fault in the taillights AND for the brake system? i dunno.
Kai said:I had this suddenly happen to me, only there was no problem with my brakes, the bulb failure module in the boot was to blame. Water can get in there, and if it does, then the module can burn out....
This causes the handbrake light to turn on constantly, the cruise control wont work and is generally an irritation....
