Nice job on the throttle body. Its good to see another kid starting young on a supra and doing it with his own money. I started off kinda like you when I was 15 I bought two for about a grand together. Its a good time and learning experience just don't get to frustrated when your trying to do things on the cheap because your poor then they keep breaking.

Oh and my friend here at school said his dad bought him a Mercedes SLK for his 16th birthday and my other friend got an Acura TL and now shes tired of it and wants a BMW. Nice kids but really spoiled.

My lunch money goes towards welding rods and sandpaper. The little amount of polish I have is the same can that I had when I had my last car.

Yeah, I found at really fast how long money lasts once you have an older car (with my 83). Working on cars takes time, money, patience, and a shitload of back-breaking. But the end of the day is what I look forward to...

In my opinion blistering my hands and a hurt back is all worth having a mirror as an engine :)

If you were as ugly as I am, you wouldn't want a mirror anywhere near you.......:aigo:

:bigthumb: here at virginia tech i see way too much of that: "oh good for you graduating, here's a wrx. and then we'll pay your tuition too. and here, throw in a benz for good measure."

I have a teenage kid and I walk the line between doing too much, and not enough.

I think there has got to be a happy medium somewhere between parents that give their kids MBZ's, and parents like mine who gave me nothing.

It made me self-reliant and tough, but it's a hard way to come up. fwiw.

still learning
i have friends whose parents pay for everything and they keep the money they make.

my parents let me stay at home for free and buy food, pay my phone bill, helath insurance and half my tuition, i pay the other half of tuition, insurance, car parts, gas, clothes, and basicly everything else.

oh and very nice work. i wish i had started working on my sup earlier

valve covers are looking good. you're going to need a drill with a brass brush (or just a brass brush) to get the paint out of the lettering efficiently though. keep it up!

I'm planning on doing it with a dremel, and thanks guys for the pat on the back. I can't imagine what this is going to look like. Probably AMAZING!!!

And also, I'm doing the heat shield tomorrow, and picking up a set of 89+ taillights from a guy in Ky this weekend.

Sorry, I'm asking for taillights for christmas, and don't want to ask for too much. Plus I still need oil, valve cover gaskets, valve cover screws, and valve cover gaskets.

Depending on how much you're asking I might be able to finish the weld season off and scrape up some more cash from the handrail co in Pikeville

That is very shiny. I love it, and now I must go outside and take my valve covers off. I will be right back.

Great job, polishing sucks! But I keep on doing it;) As Dave said .....no clear coat, Zoop Seal is the shit. Not cheap, but it goes a looooong way.
