Had a little fire today...

Today, while I was sitting at an intersection, i noticed some smoke coming from under my hood...well, it was quite a bit...I immediatey turned the car off, got out and opened the hood... to find a bundle of wires under the AFM burning! I didn't have anything to douse the flames with, so I ran to a car that was stopped at the intersection, and asked the guy inside if I could have his drink! lol I immediately knew what caused the fire, it was a direct short between 12 volts from the battery and the auxiliary fan's relay...

I did the electric fan override mod from SOGI: http://supras.com/06/techcenter/display.php?QID=37

Well, the fan had always worked like the mod says it will, but when I turned on the A/C, it caused this problem...so if you have done this mod, or are thinking about it...don't have the fan(s) jumped while the A/C is on!

I always carry a fire extinguiser just in case and not those dorky can ones but a small one that you get at a fire hall. They're a bit bigger but those small can ones won't do shit.

Nashman is a good guy even if he can't type that well (he has dyslexia i think)

i had an oil fire 300 miles from home and blew the head gasket at the same time....fun.

i spent 9 hours repairing the wireharness. but you know what? when i was ready to start it up again everything (wireing wise) was flawless...

Well I don't have a fire extinguisher but lucky for me since I am a diabetic and I drink a lot of diet soda I always gotta pee so if I see smoke Ill whiz on it, may even pick up a girl if I needa put one out near a busy intersection lol they come running when they get a load of the size of your unit ya know. ;)
