hack repair for D.S. support bearing

i know some one out there will appreciate this repair...

if you have a bad center support bearing as in there is a lot of movement in the bushing.. and you dont want to replace it, either because you dont have the money and or tools, heres a quick fix...

no pics, sorry

but if you look at the bearing, you'll notice theres a hole in the metal frame that surrounds the bearing/bushing... i took a piece of stock metal rod.... and wedged it in there so it took up the play... also for piece of mind, welded the rod to the metal frame...

just a thought maybe some would like... at least untill they can replace the bearing..

i was also thinking maybe you could spray some right stuff in there and possibly it would work also...

Theres a similar mod thats common for motor mounts, Take it out, tape of one side, and fill the gaps with liquid urethane. almost as good as urethane mounts and usually can be done with a mount with ripped/damaged rubber.

A friend of mine that has a towing service revently bought a uhaul truck and it has the support nearly identical to ours and e said I can have it for free go me yay, cus A I've Ben worrying about this a lot lately and B that uhaul one is nearly brand new!!
