I have been having this coolant overflowing in the coolant resevior problem. And today I noticed that the radiator cap had gunk on it. I cleaned it off and later found more gunk on it. It's kinda brown but I'm not sure.

What does this mean?

Thanks!

what do you mean? That what I paid was a fair amount and that it'll just cause me some more money to fix it up?

Supras originaly didnt have a hatch then the designers added one so you can open it and stuff more money into them!

Supras are not cheap to run, and if you buy one cheap expect to pay a fair amount to fix it! and if you do a cheapo dodgy fix expect to pay twice!

thanks for breaking it down to me.

So what should I do now? I'm really clueless, so any expert opinion is valuable to me.

THanks

You shoulda called your daddy and asked him first. This is not always the situation. What Q's did you ask when you bought the car...,? Was the gent integral? or were you lied to? Then think of this as the perfect reason to go out and purchase more tools.

sounds like you got some oil in your coolant... means you have a blown head gasket... compression test the motor (if you cant tow it to a place that can) that will confirm if it is or not... Your coolant is overflowing because your head gasket is leaking forcing air into your cooling system, and pressurizing it. And now it has probably finally blown and now you have oil in your coolant. Check underneath your oil filler cap, see if it has a milky substance on it, and look inside, milky? If you said yes then you do have a blown head gasket. Don't drive it, fix it.

Look Clean the hell out of the radiator cap drain all radiator fluids and drain as well the overflow. Refill with one jug of of antifreeze. crank engine a couple of times, top off with water. And just keep an eye on it. I am willing to bet that there are 4 out of 10 soups driving around that have bhg's. I'm telling you soups have a subtle way of hiding these things. My rides just honest with me......, Smoke starts pouring out of the hood and I pull over or I make it home. When it goes to smoking there's a problem.

I know mines blown and it just keeps running hard so i keep topping it off with water and when it's time to drain there is virtually no antifreeze to get into my eyes. then go back to the antifreeze and start from the top. Don't be out racing any fairlady's. It takes all of 10 minutes. The more antifreeze you use the less likely you are to overheat and you may fry a 7m before the piece of shit stock gauge let's you know she's warming up.

Get the head compression tested, and get a hydrocarbon test... check for a bhg... mine had no symptoms of a bhg other than air in the lines and overheating issues. No milky oil, no oil in my coolant, no white smoke... I thought I had trapped air... but as soon as I fixed my cooling system completely their was more and more air in the lines... had a hydrocarbon test and found it was a blown head gasket... get it checked.

i found this one out the hard way when my mechanic said i didn't need to shave the block and now i have another bhg 1 year to the day since i paid for the old one and drove away...
