Today i went out and purchased a WB and a FCD, i am aware the stock turbo isnt good after around 14psi. But how do i know when im trying to boost too much for the turbo? lets say if i cranked it up to 17 (for example) will A/F ratios tell me or somthing else? my engine isnt put back in the car yet and im just trying to get everything done correctly. Someone stated 1cc=1hp so would my stock 440's be safe to use in the lower 400hp range with 255 fuel pump?

The modds
.40 oversized wiseco pistons
eagle h-beam rods
full 3' exhaust
fidanza 11lb flywheel
RPS max clutch
oil pump
waterpump
thermostat
FMIC & hardpipes
Garrett turbo not installed
MHG
ARP head studs
stock head assembly
gates timing belt
ebay oil cooler kit
intake
stock fuel system
street fire rev limiter
new bearings & gaskets

anyone know how much hp i would expect to yeild from these things? most of it is done just for supporting higher hp later

sorry for all the Q appreciate all the help guys
let me know if my Q's arent clear

Fuel cut is there for a reason ;)
An FCD = BOOM in short order...you won't catch me using one.

At 17 psi you're just pumping hot air...this is bad! Your afr won't change much but hot air doesn't make power....installing a fcd is turning your motor into a time bomb!

I see plenty of fail so far!

You have so much money in your build so far and your doing something so stupid as turning boost up on a ct and instaling a fcd....if you do this you seriously deserve a blown motor!!

I'll give you $1500 for your motor right now before you blow it...

if the 7m dosent have a fuel map beyond 12psi then how would u go any higher?
or do i just have it wrong, whats the safest way to run more boost

Considering you're new I'll explain more...the lex afm is bigger and let's more air in...now that it let's more air in it's wise to mate it with 550 injectors too balance out the more air and fuel...the adjustable fpr is too tune your low throttle/idle air/fuel ratio...the walboro fuel pump pumps much more fuel than the crappy stocker and is pretty cheap! The piggy back ecu is to fine tune mid and full throttle fueling...

Now with some piggyback ecu's you can do away with the afm all together...such as a "map ecu, maft pro,maft"...it's the afm that controles fuel cut so you'll have to have a profeshional set your fuel cut while it's being dyno tuned....but if you go with apexi neo or the likes then you need to keep the lex afm to raise fuel cut.

I don't know your budget so I can't answer that...

But personally maft pro is the best piggyback to date! It eliminates the horrid looking afm and let's have more cold air intake options...it's a more involved unit as far as tuning as it can also do timing but you'll need a gm map sensor too meter air if I'm not mistaken..

No need for a GM MAF...MafT Pro on speed density needs a GM temp and pressure sensor.

Hey Gaboon are you still NA?

Go get you a Lex afm and a afpr or some 550's and a walbro start from there. If you want to get rid of the AFM you can go with the MAFT Pro, I have yet to see any big numbers from anyone with this though. Start with a simple setup or go all out. I wish the VPC was still available. The AFM is restrictive but for what you want to do it will be fine.
