I've been doing some research, trying to narrow down a good turbo that will get me around 500hp on 94 octane. I hear a lot about GT35s, but I did some research into the GT4082, and it looks promising. Has anyone run these on a 1JZ? Judging by the flow maps, 500hp may be pushing it, but as long as I have a nice streetable turbo, and can make upper 400s I'll be happy.

Notable mods on my vehicle include Crower 272 small core cams, and a standalone engine management system (HKS F-con V-pro + HKS A/F Knock Amp).

Does the 4082 seem like a good idea? Throw a small hotside on it like a .68, and I think this should scream.

Are you sure? It seemed to me that the 4082 was actually smaller then the 35R

Edit: Seems like the time is screwed up on the forums. This post was posted AFTER the one below it.

For the goal of yours a gt35r would suit you better... hell I make 420whp off of a gt30r at 19psi.... The 4082 will most likely be best for 500-550 i would imagine..

i just dynoed my sc300 with a 1jzgte and i have the gt35r garrett turbo and my mods are safc for tuning, cam gears set at 0. stock 1j cams, 3inch exhaust and down pipe, front mount, and i did 460rwhp and 400rwtq 93 octane gas. so if you have a fuel management and crower cams you should be there all day long with a gt35r.

You won't need a small hot side for a GT4082. It will definitely give you close to 500 hp and spool nicely I think My 7m spooled it fully by 3800rpms @20psi.

Yea in the specs it looks like the 4082 is a 58mm inducer and the 35r is a 61mm

How much boost was that at?
