In a country where a 1G came stock, I wouldn't think it odd to own one.
I do(however) think it a little batty to swap one in a US Supra when there's so much more support for 7M and 1J. If 1Gs came stock in US Supras, surely we would all be a little more familiar with higher output GA70s. Same goes for 1J cars in the US. 1J support is decently strong now but still young compared to the 7M. But that's just how it is.
